The Leica Society is based in Britain where most of the current committee live, although as mentioned elsewhere, the membership is drawn from many countries around the globe. With the rise of the internet and the World Wide Web, drawing memberships from around the world continues to be a growing trend.
Society officers' profiles have been published in the newsletter, as a means of enabling the membership at large to get an insight into those who volunteer to support the society, and hopefully realize that they too can play a part in the Leica Society without being an 'expert'.
Any member who wishes to get involved in the organising of the society in a formal way, by joining the committee, or in an informal way, should contact a member of the committee.
The Society is independent of the Leica company and funds it's activities from member subscriptions and Leica - related advertising (please visit our links page) from dealers and those valuable individuals who maintain and repair equipment. We also carry out small scale fundraising at our events, raffles, auctions of leica and photographic equipment and sales of society items, for example.
To join us, simply complete the application form available from the membership page and I can promise you a great deal of enjoyment, friendship and knowledge in return. |
